To manage its business operations and lead the TAFISA office, TAFISA is accepting applications for the position of Secretary General with an expected start date of 1st September 2022.
Job Description
The field of tasks of the TAFISA Secretary General includes the following:
- Management of the TAFISA office including responsibility for staff, budget, operations, etc.
- Preparation of the Board of Directors Meetings and General Assembly (statutory responsibilities).
- Implementation of decisions taken by the Executive Board, Board of Directors and General Assembly
- Oversee all expenses connected with the administrative work of TAFISA and other expenses authorised by the Executive Board and Board of Directors, within the limits of the established budget
- Representation of TAFISA vis-à-vis internal and external partners
- Strategy development
- Coordination and further development of existing and new TAFISA programmes and events
- Development and coordination of fundraising and income generation
- Supervision of PR, marketing and communications
- Development of new areas of engagement
- Other duties as and when required within the capacity of the role
Contract Conditions
The following conditions apply to the working contract of the Secretary General:
- Employed in a full-time position (39.25h/week)
- Contract period is subject to negotiations
- Workplace location is in the TAFISA Executive Office (presently located in Frankfurt/Main, Germany)
- Involves frequent travel worldwide and extra hours as and when required, including weekends and public holidays
Salary
Is adequate to the requirements of the position
Required qualifications and competences
Master\'s degree in sport management, business administration, or other relevant fields
- Fully literate in English and German and a third language
- Knowledge of German tax and organisational law
- Knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit sector
- High-level diplomacy and international relations skills to work with Board of Directors, partners, members, stakeholders, funders, etc.
- At least five years of experience in a management role within an international non-profit organisation
- Proven experience in:
- Developing and implementing business strategies
- Fundraising strategy and grant applications (EU, UNESCO, IOC)
- Strategy development and planning
- Leadership skills to supervise and motivate staff
- Communication skills and experience in public speaking and presenting at high-level events
The Secretary General shall conduct their duties in compliance of TAFISA\'s statutes, bylaws and Code of Ethics as well as in accordance with the decisions of the Board of Directors and within arrangements applying to the executive office.
